Greetings, Falcon families!

News of the week

  • Chili Cookoff is TODAY – From 4-6 p.m. Friday, today, the aspiring chefs in our Culinary 2 and 3 classes will vie for the best chili! The event is a fundraiser for the culinary program, and a suggested donation of $10 lets you sample the dishes and cast your vote for the winning chili! All are welcome. The event will be held at Abrookin Career and Technical Center. (See some photos taken as the chefs prepped on Wednesday.)

  • Get free books and dine with their author on Wednesday – Through the New York State Writers Institute and The Book House, Falcons have the opportunity to get the Inheritance Cycle four-book series that began with "Eragon" for free. The series is ranked the 13th biggest-selling series of all time. In addition, our Falcons can have dinner with the author, Christopher Paolini, before his author talk at 7 p.m. at Page Hall on the UAlbany downtown campus. For the talk, they'll have front row seats. His visit to Albany on Wednesday coincides with the release of a fifth book, "Murtagh," which comes out Tuesday. The Book House is taking preorders and will be selling the books at the event, but our students get the first four free paperbacks by stopping down to the library and signing up
