Community forum Monday– An in-person forum will be held Monday from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Albany High auditorium to learn more about ongoing efforts to address conflicts that the high school and community experienced earlier this school year.
Blood drive Wednesday– January is National Blood Donor Month, and Albany High will do its part to help build lifesaving blood supplies when it holds a community blood donation drive from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. in the library.
Celebrate Lunar New Yearwith us– All are welcome to attend a Lunar New Year Celebration on Feb. 3 (next Saturday) in the auditorium from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., sponsored by the Chinese Club and the Chinese Community Center. For $1, you can eat traditional dishes, make traditional artwork and take part in traditional games.
School record tied – Madison Nunziato tied a school record with seven 3-pointers and Jordan Johnson contributed a brilliant all-around performance to lead the girls’ basketball team to a home win over Schenectady on Wednesday night. A senior, Nunziato finished with a career-best 24 points and became the third Falcon to connect on seven 3-pointers in a game. The Falcons are ranked No. 13 in the state and unbeaten in the Suburban Council. Read more and check out photos from the game.

Next Gen Barbers is open for business – Students, staff and community members can get haircuts Thursday and Friday afternoons from from 1:15-2:45 p.m. at Abrookin. Cost is free for students, $5 for staff and $10 for community members, and an appointment is required.
Free salon services for 55+ – Attention Albany residents age 55 and up: Get free beauty services from aspiring beauticians every Thursday at Albany High!
Leaving school – Albany High School is a closed campus. Students are not allowed to leave campus for any reason without parent permission. This includes during lunch and study hall. If a student has an appointment, i.e. doctor, medical, family matter, etc., they must have a note or phone call from a parent giving permission to leave. All students also must be signed out by a parent in order to leave school grounds. Students who leave campus without a valid reason will not be allowed to re-enter without parent contact.
Traveling to and from Abrookin – All students must take the bus to and from Abrookin Career and Technical Center and the main campus for any classes. This will prevent students from being late and having to go back through security, and ensure student safety. Students who do not take the bus will not be allowed to re-enter without parent contact. The bus is available at Building 2, Stair 2-2 and at the Abrookin entrance.
