Completing college financial aid forms can be overwhelming, but the Albany High School Counseling Department is here to help!
This year, new legislation requires that all high school seniors complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the New York State Dream Act Application, or sign a waiver form, by the time they graduate.
To support our Albany High families, counselors will host a working session for families needing assistance completing applications for the Free Application for Student Aid, or FAFSA, and the Tuition Assistance Program, or TAP – both of which help determine whether a student is eligible for college financial aid.
This event will take place on Dec. 12 in the Albany High library and families can book a session at a timeslot of their choice. The first sessions begin at 4 p.m. and the last sessions begin at 6 p.m.
At the sessions, families will connect with a professional financial aid counselor who will take them step-by-step through the FAFSA and TAP applications.
Two important details:
- Registration for this event is required. Sign up here using your student login, and you will receive a confirmation email verifying your appointment time.
- Please note: At least three days before starting the FAFSA application process, both the student and parent or guardian must create a Federal Student Aid ID number. Visit this website to create a Federal Student Aid ID and get a checklist of documents you’ll need before the appointment.
