The Albany High FIRST Robotics Team 1493 is gearing up for the big moment -- competiting at the Tech Valley Regional hosted at MVP Arena on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29!

In early January, the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition REEFSCAPE presented by Haas Game Animation was announced. It is an ocean-themed competition pitting two competing alliances against each other as they direct their robot to score coral, harvest algae and attach to the barge before time runs out!
Since the details of the game were released, our Falcons have been working diligently on their robot, Riptide, spending countless hours collaborating together to prepare for competitions in March.
The first weekend of March, the team traveled with Riptide to Rockland Community College to compete in the Hudson Valley Regional alongside 49 other teams. After qualification rounds, our team ranked seventh and became the captain of the fifth seeded alliance. Our Falcons persevered through five elimination matches and placed third in the event!
