Our Valentine Spa Day is a beloved tradition at Albany High School! On Saturday, Feb. 8, our amazing cosmetology students welcomed students, staff, district families, and community members into our gorgeous salon at Albany High for beauty services such as manicures, pedicures, haircuts, artificial eyelashes and more!
One of the most heartwarming aspects of this year’s event was welcoming two Albany High alumni—Metorcery Wilson and Aaliyah Dallard—to play a special role in the festivities. Wilson and Dallard both completed the cosmetology program at Albany High and are small business owners in the community.
Wilson, who graduated in 2016, has a natural hair care product line called Meta’s Beauty and is also pursuing a degree in education. She is a teaching assistant at Sheridan Preparatory Academy. Dallard, who graduated in 2021, is the owner of Liyah Beauty.
Our culinary program added some savory to the sweet, serving up scrumptious shrimp and grits! We also loved seeing one of our Falcon entrepreneurs—eleventh grader Olivia Mitchell—participate as a vendor, selling crocheted accessories such as hats and scrunchies.
Stay tuned for details on our next spa day, which will take place in May in honor of Mother’s Day!
