On Tuesday evening, we celebrated our three senior student-athletes from the competitive cheerleading team. Each senior was presented with a blue rose and was honored with their loved ones for their leadership and dedication to the Albany High competitive cheerleading team. This year’s shining stars are Elana Temple, Tayasia Branch and Kalina Rodriguez.
Rodriguez joined our competitive cheerleading team this year, while Temple and Branch have been dazzling us with their talent since their freshman year. Temple and Rodriguez expressed their joy in spending time together during practices, emphasizing how enjoyable it is to bond with their teammates. Branch shared the motivating spirit of the sport, stating, “It makes me want to do something with my life, so after school I’m not just sitting at home. I’m making friendships; I’m having fun."
Following the heartfelt senior ceremony, our competitive cheerleading team wowed the audience with a fabulous routine, showcasing their exhilarating skills and igniting the room with Falcon pride. Fresh off their impressive first-place win on Feb. 8 at Colonie High School, we are thrilled to see them continue to soar high this season. Our Falcons will next compete on Feb. 20 at Niskayuna High School and will complete their winter season by competing in the Suburban Council Championship on Feb. 22 at Shaker High School.
Let's go Falcons!
