Student performing a vocal piece at Open Mic

On Wednesday evening, our Falcons put on an amazing Open Mic night event. The theme was “Black and Red V Day,” giving students and staff an opportunity to artistically explore the array of emotions and experiences around the topic of love, while enjoying fun Valentine-themed snacks and drinks.

Albany High teacher John Cole served as the emcee of the event, peppering in silly loved-themed puns between performances that kept the crowd laughing. The audience was delighted as they enjoyed solo acts, duets, vocal performance, poetry, instrumental music, dancing and more!

We want to give a shout-out to our performers who made this night both moving and meaningful, as well as to Albany High teachers Alicia Abdul and John Cole for creating space where our Falcons can express themselves in an affirming environment.
