Falcons on fire at 2025 media arts fest

Albany High School media artists excelled last Thursday at the 2025 Capital Regional Media Arts Festival.

The annual festival gives students from area high schools an opportunity to display their skills in a range of media arts and have them reviewed by a panel of arts educators. Students submitted film, photography, animation, computer art and graphic design work.

Noted works include:

  • Senior Jadyn Hardy, whose Free Speech was named outstanding in the documentary category.
  • Junior Bekim Spelling, whose “Rio de Janiero Travel Poster” took second place in the visual identity and marketing materials category.
  • The team of juniors Leo Connell, Ian Roach and Akeela Robertson, whose two works earned honorable mention in two categories: “Birds Eye View” in the narrative comedy category and “Flowers” in the experimental art category.
  • Ian Roach’s solo project, “Memories,” which also earned an honorable mention in the documentary category.

They are all students of media arts teacher Theresa Story.
