Black leaders honored through creativity

Students drew pictures of the BLM movement in honor of Black History Month.

Student-artists, guided by art teacher Amanda Mannato, at Albany School of Humanities, created some very special art in recognition of Black History Month.

Each class was assigned to color a portrait of an influential figure without knowing what it would look like once it was put all together.

The students used oil pastels to achieve the bright colors and some of the highlighted leaders included: Rihanna (grade 3), the founds of the BLM movement (grade 5), Lizzo (grade 4), Chadwick Boseman (grade 1).
