Friday’s weather didn’t cooperate, so elementary students at Albany International Center and the Dual Language Program simply held their planned Living Literature Parade indoors.
Students and staff dressed as their favorite book character and were cheered on by older students as they marched through the halls of Edmund J. O’Neal School of Excellence. Some of the characters came from fiction favorites like “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss and fairy tales like “Little Red Riding Hood,” while others were biographical figures like Frieda Kahlo.
Check out some photos from the day and see if you can spot some of your favorite characters!. (You don't need a Facebook account to see the pictures linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
After the parade, many kept on their costumes for the rest of the day. The festivities capped off the school’s Multilingual Literacy Week.
