The following message is from Edmund J. O'Neal School of Excellence Principal Rachel Stead.
Dear Families,
I am writing to share some more details as we prepare to welcome staff and students back to our building tomorrow morning, Tuesday, May 24.
We are excited to showcase our building this evening, Monday, May 23, from 4:30-6 p.m. While traditional “open house” activities have not happened since prior to the pandemic, we are excited to be able to provide our families the opportunity to tour our building and view the spaces where the children spend each school day. District staff will also be on site to answer any questions related to the recent mold remediation work and other proactive measures taken in the building. A presentation will begin at 4:30 p.m., and families will have the opportunity to tour the building between 5 and 6 p.m.
All transportation will resume as normal on Tuesday. Drop-off and pick-up times remain the same as they were before. Student arrival and dismissal are also the same; our front doors open at 8:55 a.m. and dismissal is at 3:30 p.m., with parent pick-up still behind the school.
We are organizing a clap-in for our return on Tuesday. At approximately 9:15 a.m., our elementary students will walk with their classes out the 2nd Street (prekindergarten) doors and enter the building while staff and secondary students clap for them. All school community members are welcome to join us for this event, which should last about 10 minutes.
The staff is so excited to be able to welcome our students back to our school this week. We hope you will join us as one of these events.
