Talk about keeping it in the family!
When Dual Language pre-K teacher Ana Banda-Wemple recently telephoned the parents of one her new students to say hello, the mother asked her to repeat her name. Turns out that mom Leysha Quinones had Banda-Wemple when she taught third grade in the Dual Language program several years ago.
Quinones is now an adult with a family of her own. And her son, Majesty Oquendo, is in Banda-Wemple’s class this fall. Mom and son were both at Edmund O’Neal School of Excellence Thursday for Banda-Wemple’s pre-K orientation for students and parents.
Both Banda-Wemple and Quinones are delighted that history, in a way, is repeating itself.
