The following is an important message from Eagle Point Elementary School Principal Jared Fox:
This week the City of Albany notifed me that National Grid will be installing a new gas main on Western Avenue between Oxford Road and Tudor Road.
The work will run from 6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and will begin Aug. 5. It is slated to end Sept. 3., in advance of the first day of the 2024-25 school year on Sept. 6
The upgrade and subsequent road restoration will involve a lane closure on the west-bound lane of Western Avenue and will be in compliance with all New York State Department of Transportation specifications and notifications.
