Local author visit inspires students

A local author teaches students the writing and publishing process.

We Don’t Eat Our Neighbors.

Not only is that excellent advice but it’s also the title of Daniel J. Mahoney’s most recent children’s book.

The Albany-based author/illustrator visited grade 2 on Tuesday and Fran LoGiudice and Melissa Shelmerdine's classes learned about the book writing – and publishing – process and, also. participated in a brainstorming activity that allowed them to collaboratively write a story that Mahoney illustrated.

Mahoney is the creative force behind seven publications for children with another, My Cat is a Secret Agent, coming out this spring.
