Sheridan Preparatory Academy is looking forward to welcoming our new assistant principal on Monday, Feb. 3.
Alexander Santana will join our community to fill the vacancy created when Tina-Marie Cascone became Sheridan Prep’s new principal at the start of January. The City School District of Albany Board of Education appointed Santana to the assistant principal position earlier this month.
Santana, who is bilingual in Spanish, has worked in the City School District of Albany since 2018. He comes to Sheridan Prep after serving 2½ years as a K-5 math instructional coach at Eagle Point Elementary and Albany International Academy. He also taught at Delaware Community School and Pine Hills Elementary School.
Prior to coming to Albany, he was a math interventionist in the Clarkstown Central School District, an elementary teacher in the Ithaca Central School District and a migrant specialist/English as a Second Lanugage instructor in Sodus.
Santana earned a bachelor’s degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva and completed a master’s in childhood education at Ithaca. He also holds building leadership certificates from The College of Saint Rose.
Please join us in welcoming him to Sheridan Prep!
