The following message is from Principal Jasmine Brown:

All students in the City School District of Albany will have a day of distance learning Thursday, Dec. 17 due to the weather forecast. Students attending school in-person will go home Wednesday with materials they will need for distance learning. Teachers also will make sure that all planned instruction and digital resources are available for students Thursday through Google Classroom.

Giffen students have been practicing how to log into their Google Classroom and where they can find their digital resources. In addition, all in-person students are being sent home with a letter today which includes their virtual schedule and details on how to login. Students should plan to login at 9 a.m.

The Google Classroom is the cornerstone of our virtual learning environment. Your child can access their personal Google Classroom by:

  • Using a web browser, go to classroom.google.com
  • Using a district Chromebook, look for “Managed Bookmarks” in the top left hand corner. Click on the bookmark folder and then click on Clever or use this link: Clever

You also can use the following link as an additional guide for how to use Google Classroom: Google Cheat Sheet for Students

Students that are already in the virtual learning environment will continue their regular daily schedule. On Friday, all in-person students will return to the building.
