District closed for Independence Day
Giffen Memorial Elementary School students will have a second distance-learning day Friday to allow staff more time to clear the unpleasant odor that has affected the building.
Parents and guardians, contact Principal Jasmine Brown at jbrown@albany.k12.ny.us or (518) 475-6650 if you need a Chromebook at home for virtual instruction. Devices will be available for parents and guardians to pick up at school from 9-10:30 a.m. Friday. Meal pickup also will be available at school during this time.
Please come to our school’s main entrance on South Pearl Street for Chromebook and meal pickup.
Teachers will begin live instruction via Google Classroom at 9 a.m. Friday. Your child’s teacher will have more information about the full instructional schedule for the day in their Google Classroom.
Remember that your child should use their district login credentials to access Google Classroom. Please contact your child’s teacher if you need help with that.
