Giffen Memorial Elementary School will have early dismissal Friday afternoon due to repairs that are needed to fix a power malfunction that occurred at the building overnight.
All Giffen students will dismiss at 12:50 p.m. Friday. They will have lunch before dismissal, and First Student will transport bus students home on their regular routes. All after-school programs also are canceled Friday.
Please make arrangements for your student’s early arrival at home or with their day care provider.
The building experienced a power outage overnight. National Grid initially put temporary repairs in place, but advises that the power supply to the building is unlikely to last for the full school day. Friday’s early dismissal will allow National Grid to fully repair the problem.
