Giffen kindergarteners and first graders celebrated trees, bees and flowers in front of their school on a perfect Friday afternoon.
The students had hands-on experiences in English language arts, math, science and social studies as they planted sunflowers, counted tree rings, saw bird and wasp nests up close, learned about bees and tasted honey (and got to try on cool beekeeping outfits in the process), explained the sequence from seed to tree and more. They also sipped tasty apple cider.
What a great way to end the week!
