Beginning this Tuesday, the City School District of Albany will use the CDTA bus system to provide transportation to student-athletes who need to travel between schools for fall sports practices.
The district’s transportation partners at First Student and local coach bus companies are not able to provide dedicated after-school buses for fall sports practices due to their ongoing shortage of drivers. The CDTA network provides access directly to, or near, all schools that serve as practice locations.
All student-athletes will continue to be transported to competitions via First Student buses.
Student-athletes can ride the following CDTA buses to their practices beginning Tuesday (you can find route maps, directions and schedules for all routes in our Transportation section):
Albany High to Myers
- Sports – Mod-9 boys’ soccer; JV and varsity volleyball
- Bus – 805 Blue: Drops off at the Myers entrance on Whitehall Road (Elbel Court)
Albany International Center to Albany High
- Sports – Mod-9 and varsity girls’ soccer; JV and varsity boys’ soccer; modified and varsity boys’ and girls’ cross country; modified, JV and varsity football; varsity girls' tennis
- Bus – 106: Drops off at North Allen Street and Washington Avenue; students then walk to the high school
Albany International Center to Myers
- Sports – Mod-9 boys’ soccer; modified boys’ and girls’ soccer; JV and varsity volleyball
- Bus – 106: Drops off at the Myers entrance on Whitehall Road (Elbel Court)
Hackett to Albany High
- Sports – Mod-9 and varsity girls’ soccer; JV and varsity boys’ soccer; modified and varsity boys’ and girls’ cross country; modified, JV and varsity football; varsity girls' tennis
- Buses – 801 Black or 806 Red
- 801 Black drops off at North Allen Street and Washington Avenue at about 3:25 p.m.; students then walk to the high school
- 806 Red drops off at North Allen Street and Washington Avenue at about 3:17 p.m.; students then walk to the high school
Hackett to Myers
- Sports – Mod-9 boys’ soccer; modified boys’ and girls’ soccer; JV and varsity volleyball
- Bus – 801 Black: Drops off at Myers
Hackett to North Albany
- Sports – Modified volleyball (blue and white)
- Bus – 806 Blue: Drops off at North Pearl Street and North 2nd Street in front of North Albany Middle School
Myers to Albany High
- Sports – Mod-9 and varsity girls’ soccer; JV and varsity boys’ soccer; modified and varsity boys’ and girls’ cross country; modified, JV and varsity football; varsity girls' tennis
- Bus – 801 Orange or 801 Black
- Both buses drop off at North Allen Street and Washington Avenue; students then walk to the high school
- 801 Orange arrives at the North Allen stop at about 3:15 p.m.
- 801 Black arrives at the North Allen stop at about 3:25 p.m.
- Both buses drop off at North Allen Street and Washington Avenue; students then walk to the high school
Myers to North Albany
- Sports – Modified volleyball (blue and white)
- Bus – 801 Brown: Bus drops off at North Albany Middle School
North Albany to Albany High
- Sports – Mod-9 and varsity girls’ soccer; JV and varsity boys’ soccer; modified and varsity boys’ and girls’ cross country; modified, JV and varsity football; varsity girls' tennis
- Bus – 803 Blue: Drops off at Washington Avenue and North Allen Street, students then walk to the high school
North Albany to Myers
- Sports – Mod-9 boys’ soccer; modified boys’ and girls’ soccer; JV and varsity volleyball
- Bus – 803 Green: Drops off at Marwill Street and Whitehall Road (in front of Albany School of Humanities); students then walk along Whitehall to Myers
