The William S. Hackett Middle School library served as a laboratory on Wednesday, as students behind the top 24 experiments from their sixth- and seventh-grade science classes competed in the school’s Science Symposium.
Topics students hypothesized about, tested and demonstrated ranged from various germ studies to an exploration of whether crickets are cannibals to the best blueberry preservative.
All projects were reviewed and judged; top projects will advance to competition in the citywide Joseph Henry Science Fair on March 22 at The College of Saint Rose.
Take a look at a Facebook photo album from the competition. (You don't need a Facebook account to see the photos linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
