District closed for Independence Day
The following is a message from Montessori Magnet School Principal, John Powell:
As you have all seen by now, we are moving to fully virtual instruction starting tomorrow (Jan. 4) and running though the end of the week. I wanted to touch base with everyone as I imagine you have a range of wonderings given this development. Always looking for the positive, we have done this before and we know how it works. The first week of school, Election Day, and the two days of snow a few weeks ago have us in good shape for this move. As you did before, please stay close to your teacher's Classroom page for all updates and guidance. The schedule below is the one we have used so far and we will continue to use as we move forward. It is possible that your teacher may have some adjustments to what is below, so again, stay connected to their Google Classroom.
One area that will be different this time around is our Encore classes. Montessori shares Encore teachers with three different schools. Admins from these schools worked out a schedule that gives students as much access to encores/ live instruction as possible given our resources. It is not ideal, but it is as efficient as it can be all things considered. Your child's teachers have been given details of this plan and will be sharing updates around when your child should report to encore classes for this week. For the upcoming week, those students who have been learning virtually on a full time basis (attending encore at 11:00) will be provided with an asynchronous lesson to view during that 11:00 window.
