Sept. 27 Open House details

City School District of Albany tree logo.

The following is an important message from Principal John Powell:

Ahead of tonight's virtual event, I wanted to share some need-to-know details. This event will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. but please feel free to check out pre-recorded messages from myself and the entire team of related service providers, students support team members and encore teachers ahead of the 6:30 live event. These recordings can be found through a link at the top of your child's Google Classroom.

In order to access tonight's Virtual Open House you will need your child's Google log-in information. This is the same log-in information they had last year but if you are new or cannot recall the user name and password, please send your child's teacher an email so they can send it your way.

I know that teachers have been sharing this information ahead of today, so hopefully you are all ready for this evening.

If you would like to get a jump start on viewing the shared messages, you can do so by clicking here.

You will need to be logged on with your child's Google credentials.

Navigating tonight

After you log in to Google Classroom (using your student's credentials) you should see your teacher's Classroom page. When you arrive to the page you will be in the "Stream." This is the location where you will find the folder containing the messages referred to above. Beyond that, you will see the link for your teacher's Google Meet located in the banner at the top of the screen.  Plan to join the Meet on time and know that it will be recorded and posted for those who are unable to join tonight.Tonight is a general information session, so please hold on to any child-specific questions. Given that the Meet is being recorded, we would not want to capture anything personal which would be viewable by others down the road. You are free to choose if you want your cameras on or off, again with the recording in mind.

Regarding the recording, you can expect the recorded session to be posted tomorrow, as it takes a bit of time for the recording to finalize and then for teachers to post to their Classroom.

We hope you enjoy our virtual Open House. If you have any questions following this event, please reach out directly to your child's teacher and/or to Mr. Powell.
