The following is an important message from Principal John Powell:
The perfect way to begin World Autism Awareness Day is with a recognition of Tuesday night's amazing Autism Spectrum Fair.
I hope you had the chance to be at MMS last evening for what felt like such a wonderful culmination of months of planning and preparation by the members of the SHINE team. The coordination with agencies, transportation, donors, volunteers, and various community partners resulted in a smoothly run and extremely rich experience for members of our greater school district community.
Interactive activities, informational tables, crafts, hands on fun and an opportunity for partners in the work to network and reconnect, the fair had it all.
MMS is special in that we operate two programs which deserve their own unique identity, interact and overlap in very important ways and then on a night like last night, support each other through attendance/volunteering in a way that clearly shows that both efforts respect the work of the other.
When you make time to support our greater work in such a way, it speaks volumes about your commitment to the pursuit we have collectively chosen.
Thank you to all - staff, donors, volunteers and community partners - for all you did to make the 2025 Autism Spectrum Fair here at Montessori Magnet School an enormous success.
