The City School District of Albany Board of Education confirmed the following administrative changes for Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School on Thursday night, part of district-wide staffing reductions caused by devastating anticipated reductions in state aid that could total as much as $23.2 million for the 2020-21 school year.
Myers Principal Andrea Piper will transfer to North Albany Middle School to be principal there. William Rivers will transfer from his position as principal of Tony Clement Center for Education and become the new Myers principal, effective Sept. 29.
Myers Assistant Principals Brianna Olsen and Scott Thompson will not return for the 2020-21 school year, effective Sept. 25. Teresa Adalian will transfer from her post as assistant principal at Clement and become the new Myers assistant principal beginning Sept. 29.
The second assistant principal position at Myers was eliminated in the reductions.
