Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School was notified Tuesday that seven members of our school community have been identified as contacts of another member of our school community who tested positive for COVID-19. The school district provided notification of that confirmed case Sunday.
The seven Myers individuals identified Tuesday as contacts have been quarantined at home, in alignment with Albany County Health Department guidance. There are no other steps necessary for our school community at this time.
With COVID-19 cases at high levels throughout the Capital Region, we would like to remind everyone that it is critical for us all to continue practicing all health and safety protocols in our daily activities, both at school and at home. This includes social distancing of 6 feet or more, wearing a mask or other appropriate face covering, hand hygiene and completing the daily COVID-19 Student Screener before your student goes to school. We are continuing to follow all daily cleaning and sanitizing procedures at school as well.
If you have any questions, please contact Principal William Rivers at (518) 475-6425.
