This week eighth graders in Phil Dettelis' Technology class had a “blast” learning about rocket science!
Students studied Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion, aerodynamics and trigonometry as they built - and tested - rockets made of plastic soda bottles, cardboard and paper towel tubes.
On launch day, the rocket scientists calculated the tangent of the angle that was generated by using an altimeter.
Special thanks to Clifton Park Bottle and Can Exchange and Price Chopper for donating the necessary materials.
