Please welcome Michael Teator, Ed.D., as Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School’s newest assistant principal.
The City School District of Albany Board of Education approved his appointment at its meeting Thursday night. Dr. Teator's first day in the building with students, faculty and staff will be Feb. 28. He joins Principal William Rivers and assistant principals Brianna Olsen and Amelia Gallagher on the administrative team at Myers.
Dr. Teator brings 17 years of administrative experience to Albany. He most recently worked as an associate principal for the New Paltz Central School District. Prior to that, he worked as either a principal or assistant principal in the Middleburgh Central School District, Salem Central School District, Taconic Hills Central School District and Watervliet City School District.
He also worked as a social studies teacher at Rensselaer Middle-High School and Bishop Maginn High School.
Dr. Teator holds a bachelor’s degree in history from St. John Fisher College, a master’s degree in secondary education from The College of Saint Rose, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Sage College.
Dr. Teator replaces Teresa Adalian, who recently returned to her position as assistant principal at the district’s Tony Clement Center for Education.
