The following message is from Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School Principal William Rivers.
I am writing to tell you that Myers experienced an unplanned fire drill Tuesday
The alarm sounded at about 10:40 a.m. The Albany Fire Department arrived immediately, investigated and determined that construction dust activated one of the building's smoke detectors. Students were outside less than 15 minutes and, at no time, were students, staff or faculty in any danger.
The health and safety of our students is a top priority at Myers and throughout the City School District of Albany. If you have any questions about Tuesday’s incident, please call me at (518) 475-6425.
