Olaiya Curtis and Cheryl Backman's students have been learning about the bones and muscles that comprise the human body.
As part of the unit on Tuesday, each sixth grader dissected owl pellets.
This investigation provided the student scientists a closer look at the bones of small animals that have fallen prey to an owl. The lab included a bone identification chart, dissecting tools and a pair of “official” examination gloves.
