News

  • Sign up for Summer Sports Academy by June 21. The free free five-week program is co-sponsored by the University at Albany Liberty Partnerships Rising Stars Program and the City School District of Albany Athletics Department. Details, including the required online interest form, can be found here.
  • The City School District of Albany's free Summer Arts Program gives students currently in grades 3-11 throughout the district the opportunity to participate in four weeks of educational activities, including art, theater, dance and music! Learn more and apply online.
  • Girls in grades 7-11 who are interested in playing volleyball next fall are encouraged to attend volleyball intramurals at Albany High School. They will be held every Monday and Wednesday (beginning June 5) from 3:30-5 p.m. Student athletes must be registered via FinalForms. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Gerace at agerace@albany.k12.ny.us.
  • Any current student in grades 6-8 who plans to try out for a fall sport will need an up-to-date physical before the season begins in late August. Please schedule your child’s physical as soon as possible to ensure participation. Important health requirements for the 2024-25 school year, for all district students, can be found online.
  • There is no better way to learn about the origin of the Olympics than to hold your very own Olympics! Check out highlights from the 2024 Myers Games put on by grade 6.
  • Our Community School Coordinator, in conjunction with the PTSA, is holding a hygeine drive for Myers families. The items needed include: deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, femininie hygeine products and socks/underwear. A donation box can be found in the front office.
  • STEP - Albany Medical College's Science and Technology Entry Program - which aims to increase the number of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students in science/math/health college and careers - is seeking applications. Details for students in grades 7-12 can be found here.
  • Help wanted! Volunteers are needed to help support the Myers Food Pantry. If you are available on Thursdays from 1:24-2:50 p.m., please reach out to our Community School Coordinator.
