Students benefit from field trip experience without leaving the classroom

Two students use a game to solve a problem.

The focus in ELA enrichment Thursday was collaborative problem solving!

On Thursday, Lauren DeCarr introduced Breakout Boxes, which are similar to an escape room. In teams, the sixth graders rely on their standards-based academic skills and clues to determine the combination on the locks and win the game. The locks are opened with a mix of numbers, letters, colors, shapes and direction arrows.

Thank you to Albany Fund For Education for bringing this hands-on and creative educational to to our building!
