The City School District of Albany is seeking feedback from students, staff and community members as it considers updates to the annual Student Code of Conduct.

You can provide your thoughts, comments and questions two ways:

  • Via email to PPS@albany.k12.ny.us by Tuesday, June 1.
  • Via In-person conversation on Thursday, June 3 with members of the district’s Pupil Personnel Services from 4:30-6 p.m. at Harriet Gibbons Student Services Center, 75 Watervliet Ave.

Read the 2020-21 Student Code of Conduct here.

The Student Code of Conduct addresses expectations for student behavior and outlines efforts to promote advocacy, character-building and positive conduct.  It also defines and identifies interventions and consequences for unacceptable conduct.

Each year the district reexamines and updates the code. Sections under review include revising the dress code section regarding head coverings, updating sections about marijuana legalization, and expanding interventions for students when mental health issues are of concern.

Comments received will be shared with the Board of Education Policy Committee when it reviews proposed edits and revisions for the 2021-2022 Student Code of Conduct.

Contact the Pupil Personnel Service Department for more information at (518) 475-6130.
