Timitra Rose will become assistant principal at New Scotland Elementary School on July 1.
The City School District of Albany Board of Education approved Rose’s transfer at its meeting on Thursday.
A veteran administrator, Rose joined the district in 2015 as an assistant principal at the former West Hill Middle School. When that school closed, she became an assistant principal at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School. She transferred from Myers in 2018 to an assistant principal position at the Edmund J. O’Neal Middle School of Excellence, where she has been since.
Rose earned her bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College and her master’s degree from the University at Albany. She will replace Marilyn Jones-Oliver, who will transfer to an assistant principal position at Philip Schuyler Achievement Academy.
