Kindergarteners in Nicole Caruso’s class at New Scotland Elementary School shared some quality time Wednesday with Bowie the labradoodle therapy dog and his person, Mary Ann Cooper.
The students learned about how to properly approach a dog, and learned about Bowie’s favorite foods and where he sleeps. There also was plenty of time set aside for petting.
Bowie and Cooper are affiliated with the Schenectady Chapter of Therapy Dogs International. They visit New Scotland Elementary every Wednesday for two hours and rotate among different classes, which works out to a visit with each class about once a month.
Check out a Facebook photo album from Bowie’s visit. (You don't need a Facebook account to see the photos linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
