News & Updates

Love is in the air!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Albany Fund for Education for their generous donation supporting our Black History Month celebration. This year's theme is the Black Arts Experience, allowing students to explore the contributions of prominent Black artists throughout history. Students will analyze how these artists' works reflect cultural identity, social justice and resilience. Classes will create "something" inspired by these art forms, demonstrating an understanding of their historical context and significance.

On Feb. 27, we will welcome multiple artists to our classrooms from 10-11 a.m. to engage with our students. Additionally, on Feb. 28, Artpartners-Tsehaya & Co. Inc. will perform a dance in celebration of Black Arts Experience theme. This esteemed dance company has been part of Albany for 30 years, and we will host two 30-minute performances in the morning: one for prekindergarten-grade and another for grades 3-5. The funding from AFE has made this performance possible.

Thank you, AFE, for your continued support in enriching our students' educational experiences!
