Taking a break!

The weather may not feel like it, but our spring break is here. We will not be in session from Monday, April 14-Friday, April 18. I hope you all have an enjoyable and restful break!

This past week was eventful with the postponement of New York State exams. Upon returning from the break, our students in grades 3-5 will take the English Language Arts exams. Please ensure that your child is prepared and ready to do their best.

  • Third grade will test April 22 and 23.
  • Fifth grade will test April 23 and 24.
  • Fourth grade will test April 24 and 25.

Additionally, I would like to take a moment to celebrate Ms. Rose. It is National Assistant Principals Week, and we definitely have one of the best! Thank you, Ms. Rose, for all that you do to support our school community. Your dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed.

As we approach the end of the second trimester, you should have received your child’s report card. Please remember to check in with your child’s teacher if you have any concerns about their progress. Communication is key, and I encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Save the date

Besides the activities mentioned above, here are a few important upcoming dates. Please remember that this and more information are available on our online calendar.

  • Thursday, April 24 – PTA Movie Night for grades 3-5. There will be snacks and door prizes, and New Scotland Elementary School t-shirts will be available for purchase.
  • Thursday, May 1 – New Scotland Elementary School Spring Concert at Hackett Middle School, 6:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 6
    • All order forms are due for Art to Remember
