News
- North Albany Middle School and the City School District of Albany will be closed on Monday in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. School will be back on its regular schedule on Tuesday.
- We will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. next Wednesday (Jan. 17) to accommodate staff professional development. Additional early dismissals are planned for Feb. 14 and March 20. Details can be found here.
- The North Albany Jazz Club will begin meeting after school on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:15 p.m. The first rehearsal will be Jan. 24. Last year, our student musicians chose to use part of the time to prepare for All City and NYSSMA. Please sign up!
- Grades 7-8 are eligible to participate in tennis and football intramurals at Albany High School. For a schedule, or to sign up, head to the Athletics page on the district website.
- We are seeking 10-20 NAMS students to participate in a mural project along with our art teachers. Students will have an opportunity to help create two murals as part of our North NAMS culture and climate initiative. Participants will meet Mondays and Wednesdays during the months of February, March and April and we will celebrate the completion of the murals with a reception for friends, family and community members on May 1. Interested students must return this permission slip to participate.
- Thanks to Albany Fund for Education, and the Albany Symphony Orchestra, for this week's hands-on composing lesson for our orchestra students!
- Save the date! Our Q2 movie night - Super Mario Bros - is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19. Permission slips are required and can be picked up in the main office.
- Please join us at 5 p.m. on Jan. 24 for a PTA meeting to help decide the future of our school! We encourage all parents, guardians and staff members to sign up for the PTA today! We need 25 members to attend and vote on official PTA incorporation. Please register as a member and add Jan. 24 to your calendar
- The Albany Booster Club is seeking adult volunteers to staff the concession stand during home athletic games at Albany High School. If your student-athlete participates in a district sport, please consider signing up.
- Registration for modified (grades 7-8) co-ed swimming is currently underway. The season runs Jan. 22-March 14 and sign-up information via Final Forms can be accessed here.
- The City School District of Albany extended the Family Engagement Survey deadline! Our family/school relationships and partnerships are central to your student’s success and your feedback is important for our school improvement efforts. The online survey is confidential closes tonight (Jan. 12).
- NAMS' after-school programming sign ups are ongoing! Any student interested in participating should pick up an application in the main office or register online via this link. A schedule of upcoming offerings can be found here.
- Registration is now open for our Be Well, Wellness Program. If you are interested in joining the program, please fill out this form.
