Happy Friday, Junior Falcons!

News

  • We wanted to let you know that we are planning at least one required emergency drill during the week of Oct. 21-25. The safety of everyone in our school community is extremely important. Holding these practice drills is crucial to our overall emergency planning. In addition to next week's events, we will conduct planned drills throughout the school year and will notify you in advance of those drills as well. Before we practice a drill, we teach students, faculty and staff about the procedures to follow in an emergency.  We talk about how the drill will be announced and we inform students and employees that it is a drill. If you have any questions, please contact your school's main office.

  • If you are interested in scheduling a Parent/Teacher Conference (Oct. 24-25), please call the Main Office at 518.475.6800. As a reminder, this is no school for students next Friday, Oct. 25 due to conferences and staff professional development.

  • Afterschool programming is now underway! If you have an interest, or a desire to learn something new, chances are there's a club for you!

  • North Albany Middle School families can now receive shelf-stable grocery items every Friday. Please register to participate.  Email dsherrod@albany.k12.ny.us or call 518.475.6800 x29190 with with questions.

  • Thanks to all who participated in Wednesday's Community Walk! While out and about following the route many of our students take to and from school, we encountered resources and support and, also, some challenges they may encounter. Having this information will, ultimately, result in a safer walk to school for our scholars.

  • PTA updates:
    • Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first PTA meeting, especially Transportation Director Durett Miles. If you'd like to receive a copy of the meeting notes, please email acsdnamspta@gmail.com to be added to our distribution list.
    • Our PTA  requires 25 to members remain in good standing with the National PTA. Memberships are only $5 and you can register via this link. Parents/guardians, faculty/staff and students are all encouraged to join.
    • Do you plan to visit Dave and Busters with the kids? If so, support the NAMS PTA when you go! We are selling Power Cards for $10 or $20 and the PTA will receive 50% of all sales! Order forms and money must be returned by Oct. 23. Cards can be picked up during our Dine to Donate event on Monday, Oct. 28 from 5-8 p.m. at the Dave and Busters in Crossgates. The PTA will receive 20% of all food, non-alcoholic beverages, and game play purchased during that evening if you show this flyer. Thanks, in advance, for your support!
