The following message is from North Albany Middle School Principal Andrea Piper:
Dear Families,
This has been an incredibly difficult week as our school community grieves the loss of our students. Our hearts remain with the affected families and friends.
To allow our faculty and staff time to participate in counseling and training activities supported by district staff and crisis service partners, North Albany Middle School students will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. Friday. This time for staff support and development will allow our school to be better prepared to support our students as we move forward this school year.
Students will have lunch before our early dismissal Friday, and transportation will be provided as usual by CDTA and First Student. Please make arrangements for your student’s early arrival at home Friday afternoon.
Grief counseling and therapy dogs will continue to be available at school to support students. We encourage you to speak with your child about their feelings and remind them of the resources available at school. We also want to share a reminder about resources you can use at home if you or your child need them.
Thank you for your understanding and partnership during this time. If you or your child need additional support, please reach out to us at school.
