2019 Summer Reading Program
Summer is a great time to relax with a good book -- or several good books! Summer reading supports and builds on lessons of the previous school year and prepares students for success in the coming year
High school students
Summer reading is required for students entering grades 9-12. Students my choose from a rich, diverse list of books carefully selected by our English Department and school librarians Alicia Abdul and Kristen Majkut.
As they are reading, students will complete a summer reading journal to be turned in to their English teacher in September. More information -- including grade-level book lists, a link to the summer reading journal and more specific assignments for students enrolled in Senior Electives, AP or IB English classes -- can be found on the Albany High Summer Reading site.
For elementary and middle-school students, the City School District of Albany English language arts team is excited to announce that we are partnering with Albany Public Library once again this summer! Please read on to learn more.
