Fall Season 2 will begin on Monday, March 1. The City School District of Albany will be fielding the following teams:
- JV/Varsity football (high school students only)
- JV/Varsity volleyball (high school students only)
- Cheerleading (high school students only
- Modified swimming (boys and girls in grades 7-8)
Due to the condensed season, practices will be held seven days a week during spring break (April 5-9). This is a significant commitment but required in order for students to safely and successfully participate in Fall Season 2 sports.
Modified swim is open to students in grades 7 and 8 at North Albany Middle School, Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School, William S. Hackett Middle School and Edmund J. O’Neal Middle School of Excellence. Practices and meets will be held at Myers and student-athletes will be required to provide their own transportation. However, public transportation can be made available free of charge upon request.
Sports registration is now completed via the online platform Final Forms. Final Forms instructions can be found here (under Current Season Registration and Physicals). Please note that district email addresses cannot be used and student-athletes will only be able to sign up using a personal email address. Additional information - including coach contacts and COVID-19 safety and precautions - can be found on the City School District of Albany's Athletics page.
Because this is a quick turnaround, any families requiring assistance or access to technology should meet the district’s Director of Health, PE and Athletics - Ashley Chapple - at Myers (100 Elbel Ct.) on Tuesday (Feb. 23) from 3-6:30 p.m. Email achapple@albany.k12.ny.us with any questions.
