Visit our district Facebook page to take a look at a typical day of learning in Stephanie Scott and Emily Stickel’s co-teach first grade here at Pine Hills Elementary School.
Students spent Friday afternoon engaged in a hands-on project rooted with connections to both STEM and urban planning. After learning about the effects of earthquakes on architecture, students crafted their own structures out of marshmallows and toothpicks. They then put their creations to the test, seeing which structures endured the greatest amount of shaking.
