District closed for Independence Day
Superheroes like Spiderman and Ant-Man stood alongside everyday heroes like firefighters, police officers, teachers and school staff on Thursday to welcome students to Philip Schuyler Achievement Academy.
The group cheered, applauded and high-fived students as they arrived at school. Their “clap-in” was one of many happening throughout the City School District of Albany in the early weeks of the school year to get students excited about coming to school.
