Marilyn Jones-Oliver will become assistant principal at Philip Schuyler Achievement Academy on July 1.
The City School District of Albany Board of Education approved Jones-Oliver’s transfer at its meeting on Thursday.
A veteran administrator, Jones-Oliver joined the district in 2008 as an assistant house principal at Abrookin Career and Technical Center. She transferred to Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School in 2010 and served as assistant principal there until 2012, when she became assistant principal at New Scotland Elementary School.
Jones-Oliver earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from St. Mary’s University in Texas. She will replace Scott Thompson, who will transfer to an assistant principal position at Tony Clement Center for Education.
