Schuyler security update June 10

City School District of Albany logo

We would like to make our families aware of two security incidents that occurred outside of our school Friday.

In one incident, an upset parent refused to comply with direction that he was not allowed to enter our school due to his threatening behavior. We called the Albany Police Department to assist us with this matter. The parent left our neighborhood before the police arrived, and the matter remains under investigation.

In a second separate incident, an upset parent got in an argument with an Albany police officer in front of school while students were present. The officer was able to resolve this matter without further incident.

Safety is a top priority for all of us at Philip J. Schuyler Achievement Academy and throughout the City School District of Albany. It is important that we work in partnership to ensure a safe learning environment for all of our students. If you have any questions or concerns about either of these matters, please contact Principal Kendra Chaires-Francis at (518) 475-6700 or kchaires-francis@albany.k12.ny.us
