A day of incredible enrichment

Roots Academy at West Hill students delved into a wealth of activities on Friday ranging from art to yoga and everything in between.

It was the school’s first enrichment day, part of their new Student Education Engagement and Development (SEED) series. The whole school took part, and staff members and community partners led exciting and interactive activities in every classroom.

Check out a Facebook photo album from the day. (You don't need a Facebook account to see the photos linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)

A special shout out to the Student Leadership Team, whose members traveled between classrooms and explained their job to their fellow students. And a huge thanks to the following community partners who supported the day:

  • Broadview
  • 15-Love
  • Each One, Teach One
  • Nelly’s Treats
  • Kidz First Youth Development Network
  • Building Blocks Child Care and Learning Center
  • School of Skills Academy
  • Men on Mission
  • All Language Translations
  • Local author Shamara Delasse, who wrote “The Girl with the Green Eyes

The school plans to hold an enrichment day once every quarter.
