Community partners donate science kits

Boy shows off drawstring bag containing supplies for at-home science experiment

Thanks to our fantastic community partners at Heart of America and Regeneron, every student at Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST) will get a science-on-the-go kit starting Wednesday.

The kits include two science experiments with all the equipment included. In one, students use chromatography – a laboratory technique used to separate or analyze complex mixtures – to make a butterfly. In the other, students make a mini-greenhouse and learn how plants grow.

A book, markers, a dozen pencils and a pencil sharpener round out each kit. All of it fits in a reusable drawstring bag.

STEAM is short for science, technology, engineering, arts and math, and this generous donation helps ensure that STEAM education is occurring in school and at home!
