Meghan M. D’Alessandro will become assistant principal of Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST) on July 1.
The City School District of Albany Board of Education approved D’Alessandro’s appointment at its meeting on Thursday.
D’Alessandro taught grade 6 English Language Arts at William S. Hackett Middle School since she joined the district in 2012. In her years at Hackett, she also served as a summer-school teacher, a transition camp leader and a middle school summer school coordinator. In addition, she completed her administrative internship at Hackett under the direction of Principal Michael Paolino.
D’Alessandro holds a bachelor’s degree from Russell Sage College, a master’s from Sage Graduate School and her school board leadership administrative certificate from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She will replace Glenn Westfall, who will transfer to an assistant principal position at Albany School of Humanities.
