City School District of Albany
Tell us what you think: Code of Conduct
The City School District of Albany is seeking feedback from students, staff and community members as it considers updates to the annual Student Code of Conduct.
You can provide your thoughts, comments and questions two ways:
- Via in-person conversation on Monday, May 8 with members of the district’s Pupil Personnel Services Office from 5-6:30 p.m. at Harriet Gibbons Student Services Center, 75 Watervliet Ave.
- Via email to PPS@albany.k12.ny.us by Wednesday, May 10.
Read the 2022-23 Student Code of Conduct here.
The Student Code of Conduct addresses expectations for student behavior and outlines efforts to promote advocacy, character-building and positive conduct. It also defines and identifies interventions and consequences for unacceptable conduct.
Each year the district reexamines and updates the code. Sections under review include revising the dress code section regarding head coverings, updating sections about marijuana legalization, and expanding interventions for students when mental health issues are of concern.
Comments received will be shared with the Board of Education Policy Committee when it reviews proposed edits and revisions for the 2023-2024 Student Code of Conduct.
